Fairfield County School District Superintendent Dr. Tony L. Hemingway has submitted his notice of retirement, effective June 30, 2025.
Superintendent Hemingway shared that this decision was prompted by an urgent and unforeseen family commitment requiring a change in his primary residency.
"While this was not an easy decision, my family obligation will not allow me to give the role of Superintendent the full time and focus it deserves."
Since assuming the role, Hemingway has led strategic impact in academics, operations, human resources, and communications. “I am proud of what we’ve accomplished together,” he said.
“Fairfield County School District is well-positioned for continued success.”
He emphasized his commitment to supporting a smooth leadership transition in the months ahead.
